After this week, Apple and Google have been crucified on a cross, because of fears that once the physical location of users, it appeared that the manufacturer of GPS-and TomTom sold data rate of users of the Dutch police. After the growth of mobile phones with integrated GPS, the industry is facing falling revenue and TomTom are trying to reduce its losses by selling data traffic on the roads of local fine.
The information communicated to the police was anonymous, but the company acknowledged that their cooperation with authorities has gone farther than they wanted. In the e-mail to affected users of their applications, Harold Goddin – CEO of the company, said it did not expect their data to be used for similar purposes.
However, the TomTom will discontinue the collection and sale of anonymous user data. The company will change its licensing conditions to prevent use as that of the Dutch police. Developers hope that the traffic data they collect can help local authorities to reduce congestion and improve road safety, while brings a little additional revenue in the company.

The internet giant Google and TomTom, the owner of TeleAtlas, concluded an agreement under which the application Google Maps (and Google Earth, respectively) will use the map material of TeleAtlas. The Dutch company retains its interests – Google plans to enable users to adjust the maps as they entered included roads and points of interest (POI).
Then it will use the updated TeleAtlas maps in their own navigation equipment. The contract between the partners has a term of 5 years.
It is worth to note that this move will hardly delight Nokia. Finnish company still can not obtain the approval of antitrust authorities for their willingness to buy Navteq.

It is vital for the success of any company to have a competitive edge in their products, pricing and performance. For a business operating a fleet of delivery vehicles. their fleet operating costs, which directly affect their pricing, and the reliability and speed of delivery will be key elements. This article will set out how the introduction of a vehicle tracking system can bring about marked reductions in operating costs to the benefit of the company, improve delivery performance and thus increase customer satisfaction and at the same time bring additional benefits to company staff.
Reducing Costs/Increasing Productivity
It is essential for the efficient running of a vehicle fleet to maintain a firm control on fuel costs and operating times, particularly in an age where customers are demanding an ever more rapid response.
The single most important benefit of a GPS vehicle tracking system is that the operator will know at all times the location of each and every vehicle within his fleet. This enables him to be able to allocate any incoming job to the most suitably placed vehicle thus ensuring maximum productivity. By being able to monitor and control routes taken by vehicles, fuel costs can be kept to a minimum. In addition to fuel savings this efficient use of assets can also result in a reduction in overtime costs and allow for better monitoring and control of personal usage costs by drivers outside of working hours.
The ability to make a positive impact on a range of operating costs will clearly demonstrate the benefit of investing in a tracking system.
Improved Customer Service
It is a basic requirement for all customers to have a reliable delivery service and for some a speedy delivery is essential. By providing the fleet operator with a real time location for all his vehicles, a vehicle tracking system gives him the ability to meet those customer requirements. With the ability to check at a glance the position and progress of any journey the operator can both ensure reliability and is in a position to react rapidly to the urgent demands that his customer may make. Improved customer service and customer satisfaction come as a direct consequence.
Benefits to Staff
Although initially the introduction of a tracking system may be viewed with a little suspicion by staff there are indeed a number of advantages that they would benefit from.
Health and safety is a key factor for all employees but is particularly so for mobile workers. A vehicle tracking system will show at all times the location of fleet vehicles and can allow a much more rapid response to problems that may be encountered. Personal “panic buttons” can be incorporated in the system giving additional protection to the employee. Systems can be introduced to allow for the monitoring of driving standards which can then be used to encourage a safer approach on the road.
Two other key benefits can be of value to the employee. The ability of the system to automatically generate journey/mileage reports can remove from the driver what many consider to be an arduous task. Secondly the system will highlight the performance of the hardworking and efficient employee and can be used as a basis upon which to offer a performance reward system.

After years of monopoly decisions GPS road navigation giants TomTom, Navigon and Garmin because few competitors in this business, I thought it would be really hard to think and create comprehensive and effective and easy solution for everyone, but in 2006 we witnessed the revival of Route 66 and the launch of GoPal Navigator was developed by 3soft for Medion.
After many successful v1 in early 2006, and the following v2 format HD (high definition) at the end of 2006, now comes the third edition added a feature to avoid road sections – one of the weaknesses so far. Medion currently offers a very modern product, which has all the voice commands for fusion, marks the limit of speed on road maps of Navteq 4th quarter/2006, voice recognition (in some models).
GoPal v3 is installed on models of the 2007th Medion. Some of them are already commercialization as E3115 or MD96310, others must occur soon Referral X4510, S2310 and P4410.

GPS navigation system and among potential candidates fall Prestigio GeoVision 350 or 430. Should already in the purchase of any of the two models to get updated with detailed maps for navigation (January update of the Bulgarian Maps iGo) in 10 Bulgarian cities. Estvestveno update includes maps for the surrounding region (Serbia, Montenegro, Rum, Ukraine, Greece ..) but the main focus and what is of particular interest is mostly updates Bulgarian cities. This was Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Bourgas, Rousse, Dobrich, Veliko Tarnovo, Blagoevgrad, Stara Zagora and Shumen. However, if you buy now navigation is good to ask the seller whether the new versions with the revised maps, or unsold model which is the older version, as of course it is preferable to have a new …
And for people who already get a device and want to update the maps to the new version is also made, but this is not a free option. Update the new version of the maps will cost 100 leva, as probably it will be done in a manner similar to that used for adding additional maps for navigation in western Europe. For more details on the update for the new card should contact the company from which you bought navigation since there is supposed to have to have it or get it soon.
